Healing

Bandaging your own wounds, how long it takes, and how much it heals.

Last updated

This page describes today's playtest build. Values may change during playtests.

Healing lets you bandage your own wounds. You can’t bandage other players yet.

Using a bandage

  1. Have clean bandages in your pack. Hedda the provisioner sells them for 5 gold each.
  2. Double-click a bandage. One is used up when you start.
  3. Wait about 15 seconds.

You can’t bandage when you’re at full health. Starting a new bandage throws away the one in progress. Dying or logging out cancels it.

How long it takes

time = 9.4 + 0.6 × (120 − Dexterity) ÷ 10 seconds

Everyone has Dexterity 25 today, so a bandage takes 15.1 seconds.

Will it work?

chance = (Healing + 10)%, minus 2% for every slip

That’s 10% at Healing 0, 60% at 50, and certain from 90 up.

Slips

Every blow you take while bandaging makes your fingers slip. Each slip lowers the chance by 2% and takes 4 hit points off the heal.

How much it heals

The heal is a random amount between:

  • Least: Anatomy ÷ 5 + Healing ÷ 5 + 3
  • Most: Anatomy ÷ 5 + Healing ÷ 2 + 10

3009–25
505023–45
10010043–80

A failed bandage, or one that slips down to almost nothing, “barely helps”.

Gains

After every bandage, finished or failed, Anatomy and then Healing are checked. The chance on each check is the skill ÷ 120. Below 10.0, every check gains.

Health without bandages

Out of combat you regain 1 hit point every 6 seconds. It starts 10 seconds after the last blow you gave or took.

Training

Hedda the provisioner trains Healing up to 30. See Traders and trainers.
