This page describes today's playtest build. Values may change during playtests.
A ring of fields, about 28 hectares, surrounds the walls of Highmarch. It’s the safest open ground in the region and a good place for a new character to start foraging.
Farmsteads
Three farmsteads stand in the fields, each with a barn:
- The east farm, across the east bridge, on a spur of the east road.
- The south farm, on a spur of the south road.
- The north farm, on a spur of the mine road.
A mill stands south-east of the town, between the walls and the river.
Nobody works the farms yet, and there are no farm animals in the build.
What grows here
The fields grow wheat, flax and cotton. Apple trees grow in the meadows, around the farms and in town gardens. All of them can be foraged. See Foraging.
| Crop | Foraging needed |
|---|---|
| Apples | 0 |
| Wheat | 10 |
| Flax | 20 |
| Cotton | 30 |
Each patch of ground has a limited stock of plants that grows back over time. If a field is bare, try another.
Getting there
Leave by any gate. The fields start just past the walls.
