This page describes today's playtest build. Values may change during playtests.
Mining breaks ore and stone out of rocks. You need a pickaxe. Every new character starts with a copper one.
How to mine
Click a boulder, cliff or seam with a pickaxe in your pack or hand. Each attempt takes 3 seconds and costs 3 stamina. See How gathering works for the shared rules.
Each rock gives both ore and stone. If you can try for both, about 35% of attempts go for stone and the rest for ore.

Ore weighs 12 stones a piece. A full load of 10 is 120 stones, about half of what you can carry.

Stone weighs 10 stones a block.
Where to mine
Rocks are named for their ore. A copper-streaked rock gives copper, an iron-veined one gives iron. The mine and the slopes of the northern hills hold the richer seams.
Selling ore
Brann the blacksmith buys ore and stone. There’s no smelting yet. See Blacksmithing.
