Full loot means everything you carry outside town can be taken. That only works if there’s somewhere safe to leave things. So the bank came early.
First, speech
The bank needed people to talk. Until this week nobody could. Now you press Enter, type a line, and it shows over your head and in the journal of everyone nearby.
Townsfolk listen for keywords. Aldric the banker listens for one in particular.
The bank box
Walk into the bank on the market square and say “bank”. Aldric opens your bank box. You can also double-click him.
Drag gold and items in and out. The box holds 125 items, and bags inside it count their contents too. It has no weight limit, and it doesn’t count toward what you carry.
Two more words work:
- “balance” makes Aldric tell you how much gold is in your box.
- “withdraw 50” puts 50 gold from the box into your pack, up to 5,000 at a time.
Walk away more than 28 metres and the box closes.
Why it matters
Your bank box survives death, logout and server restarts. It belongs to the character, so each of your characters keeps its own.
That one rule changes how the game feels. Before, every trip into the woods risked everything you owned. Now the loop is simple. Bank your gold, then go hunting with what you’re willing to lose.
Rough edges
The bank was a locked building in the first pass, which made no sense for a bank. It’s a walk-in now. Aldric also wanders a little while he waits, so sometimes you have to go and find him in a corner. I’m keeping that for now. It makes him feel like a person.
