The dead shards

Pieces of fallen worlds wash up in Aldermere. Every dungeon is one of them.

Last updated

The shards that went dark didn’t vanish cleanly. Pieces of them still land in Aldermere.

What washes up

  • Ruins. Castles, halls and towers from worlds that ended, set down in the hills and on the coast.
  • Dungeons. Every dungeon in Aldermere is a fragment of a lost world, with its halls, its treasure and its dangers.
  • Monsters. Some of the things that live in those fragments came with them. Some of them have no name in Aldermere.
  • Relics. Objects from dead shards turn up in the ruins. Some of them are worth a fortune.

What it means

The ruins are the best treasure in Aldermere, and the most dangerous places in it. They’re also the only evidence of what happened to the other shards.

In today’s build

No dungeons or ruins are open yet. The cave in the northern hills is a dungeon entrance, but the dungeon behind it isn’t built. See The northern hills.
